5 Spiritual Principles You’ll Realize During The Course Of Your Spiritual Embodiment

We’re All On A Path To Learning These Spiritual Principles

a road with various guiding features representing spiritual principles

Whether we know it or not, whether we’re consciously engaged in the process or not, we’re all on a path to spiritual embodiment and learning these five spiritual principles.

Spiritual embodiment is the process of integrating our soul’s essence into our physical bodies so our soul’s gifts can be shared on this physical plane.

Everything we encounter in life is designed to bring the nature of nature into our awareness… to mold us into a spiritually embodied version of ourselves.

As the healing process (becoming whole process) progresses, there are certain truths, certain spiritual principles, that will emerge in our awareness.

In this blog post I’m going to go over those spiritual principles.

But first we’ve got to understand a little bit about our soul.

Our Soul’s Essence

Our soul is the part of us that outlasts these bodies.

So even if our bodies die, there’s a part of us that continues on, a part of us that is eternal.

That part of us, our soul, has it’s own personality.

That’s our soul’s essence.

Authentic Self Vs. Defended Sense Of Self

A video on the subject:

Here it is in podcast form:

Authentic Self

Life is constantly drawing out towards our authentic selves, our authentic selves being a version of us in which our soul’s gifts and our soul’s essence is integated into our physical bodies.

When we’re connected to our authentic selves and our soul’s essence not only are we able to express our soul’s gifts through our physical bodies, sharing our soul’s gifts with everyone, but we will feel compelled to do so.

What’s keeping us from expressing our soul’s gifts through these bodies?

Our defended sense of self.

Defended Sense Of Self

Our defended sense of self is something we absorb the second we arrive here.

The part of our nevous system that’s online when we’re in the womb and when we’re young children i a part that’s just feeling into our environment.

This primitive part of our nervous system is gathering information about what it means to be human from the other humans around us.

Certainly we pick up on some of their finer points, but we also sense the conflicted relationship they have with things like love and anger and fear and power… all the things that are involved in being human.

These are relationships with parts of their humanness that they adopted from those that came before them, which they picked up from those that came before them and so on.

So it’s an innocent and unconscious choice that we make to adopt these unhealthy programs in our nervous systems.

Since we rely on them for our survival we adopt those ways of being, too.

Looking back at my life it’s apparent that some force was constantly extruding through my defended sense of self.

In spite of my best efforts to resist my destiny, some force was intent on helping me become more aware.

It took me quite some time to get to a place where I’m surrendering to the pull toward my authentic self more often than I’m not.

I know that there are others out there who have felt this same calling all their lives because I’ve worked with hundreds of them over the last twenty years.

Through observing my journey and the journeys of those I’ve worked with over the years, there are some spiritual principles that are distilled out of the the healing journey.

Spiritual Principle One: It’s Happening Anyway

Life is providing the situations and circumstances necessary to bring us into relationship with our defended sense of selves and draw us toward our authentic selves.

Many resist due to their defensive self which has been hardened by years of habitual conditioning.

We are conditioned by a number of different factors such as the religion our parents or community practiced, our schooling, our socio-economic status, our families, the political beliefs we are exposed to, traumas we encounter, and many more examples.

However, we are destine to grow.

Spiritual Principle Two: It’s Happening To Serve You

Tony Robbins, a fan of the work that is the foundation for BioSoul Integration, said: “Life is not happening to you, it is happening for you.”

When you’re in the midst of a relationship breakdown, financial crises, loss of a loved one or losing your job, it can be difficult to remember this.

Quite often we try to resist life and question why life is against us all the time.

It is through this discomfort or fear that we are coming into relationship with our defended sense of self and actually digesting the repressed shadow material related to it.

Since spiritual embodiment is a process that involves becoming aware of both the light and the dark parts of ourselves, it’s necessary to feel how we are keeping ourselves stuck.

In digesting our unprocessed shadow material we gain insights about the nature of nature.

After the fact we’ll be able to look back and see that the uncomfortable situation or life circumstances we were in were actually serving us.

Spiritual Principle Three: There Are No Accidents In Life

Everything that we encounter is precisely designed to get us to feel what we need to feel in order to make friends with our shadow self, our defended sense of self.

In this way we embody our spiritual growth.

Life also provides us with the tools and resources necessary to handle whatever it is that we’re currently facing.

Our heart is often broken open to free your energy up to be able to realize and experience your gifts.

Acceptance of that which you cannot control is inevitable.

Spiritual Principle Four: You Can’t Make Any Mistakes

Many of us have a perfectionist streak to some degree.

We might get lost in preparing and never actually move forward, waiting until we’re totally ready.

We’re deathly afraid that we’ll get it wrong.

For example, I was raised in a conservative Christian household.

There’s a Bible passage that is seared into my memory.

Matthew 7:13-14 says, “Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it.”

For years I carried with me this constant fear that if I made a wrong move I’d solidify my separation from God for eternity.

Later on as I’d healed the shame and guilt associated with my upbringing, I felt more room to actually play.

The truth is, on some level, you can’t mess this up.

Enjoy the process of trial and error to learn what lights you up and follow that.

Spiritual Principle Five: Say Yes To Life

If you’ve been in the spiritual healing process for some time now you will have heard the words trust and surrender reiterated many times.

This fifth spiritual principle is exactly what this is about.

Say yes to whatever is happening in your life right now.

Surrender to the process.

For those of you who have just lost a loved one, if you are struggling through the legalities of a divorce or if you have contracted a serious illness right now, you might be thinking, how can I say yes to this?

For those people, I would ask you to study some of the most impactful figures of our time and their lives.

Nelson Mandela, Mother Theresa, Oprah Winfrey, Joanne Rowling, Maya Angelo, and Stephen Hawking, just to name a few.

All of these notable figures have suffered terribly, faced many rejections, and been exposed to tremendous amounts of discomfort and pain.

However, they used these as opportunities to say yes to life.

To say yes to the discomfort but to keep going anyway.

To face rejection but continue with what they knew was right anyway.

You cannot make a mistake.

As I mentioned in spiritual principle numbers two and three, life is happening for you, not to you and what you are going through is not a mistake.

It’s essential to your spiritual healing.

You are being purified.

How To Say Yes

To facilitate this process, bring your attention to what’s being extracted out of your defensive self.

How does it feel in your body?

Where do you feel it?

If even for a nanosecond you can bring your attention to that feeling, you are lubricating the sieve that’s extracting your authentic self.

This level of awareness will unlock your full potential and nudge you close to embodying your spirit.

Build a loving relationship with this process and trust what is happening.

Say yes to life because life always has our best interests at heart.

Each and every one of us has a unique gift to share with the world.

The embodiment of our spirit during our spiritual healing process is what allows us to fully express our unique gifts to the world.

It is our duty to humanity to allow ourselves to understand our gifts and give them freely to the world and others.

Reminding yourself of these five spiritual principles in your healing journey will continuously help you become more aware of who you are in the world and how you can be of extraordinary service.

Ultimately, it’s not about never experiencing pain, judgment or discomfort again, it’s being able to step into this space and fully feeling this with curiosity and optimism to set you free.

About the Author Dr. Jay Uecker

I've been supporting people through the ups and downs of their healing journeys for almost two decades now, mostly delivering BioSoul Integration from my office in Louisville, Colorado. However, it's possible to receive BioSoul Integration at a distance, as well. I've worked with 90 year olds, day old babies and everyone in between. But those who seem to be most drawn to my work tend to be those who have felt the strong calling to consciously do the work of leaning into their growth and evolution as human beings. Often these people are practitioners themselves of some sort, whether professionally or otherwise. They may be yoga teachers, meditators, acupuncturists, chiropractors, energy workers, shamanic practitioners, healers, spiritual seekers and others, and they feel called to give their gifts and share what they’ve learned with others. Discovering our soul's gifts, embodying them and then serving others with them is where true life satisfaction lies. Life will keep nudging us in that direction, anyway. BioSoul Integration can help speed up the process and smooth out the rough spots created by our innocent and unconscious resistance.
